June TBR

I don’t normally set a tbr list as I tend to feel that once I’ve commited myself to it, I can’t read anything else. I enjoy the freedom of picking up whatever I fancy. This month though, I am so excited about all of these that I think I’ll stick to it quite happily! Not necessarily in this order though.

Elantris by Brandon SandersonΒ – I am currently about 300 pages into this and loving it so far, although you can tell this was his first book, so I will definitely finish this one soon.

Nevernight by Jay Kristoff – I was lucky enough to win a proof copy of this in a Goodreads giveaway and I AM SO EXCITED TO READ IT. It’s received so many positive reviews so I am desperate to get to this asap.

This Savage Song by VE Schwab – This is released tomorrow in the UK and is an Adult/YA fantasy crossover about monsters… Super intrigued. I really enjoyed the first two books in her Shades of Magic series so I have high hopes for this.

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo – I am so late to the game I know. I only recently got round to reading her Grisha trilogy and adored it. I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did so when I saw this came out in paperback last week I had to have it. It’s set in the same world as the Grisha novels so it’s bound to be amazing.

The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch – I know, I know, I should have read this years ago but I get distracted easily. This series comes so highly recommended that I know I’ll love it. And I am definitely in the mood for a good hiest novel. Bring it on.

Twelve Kings by Bradley Beaulieu – I preordered this last year and for some reason I never actually got round to reading it. With a sequel on the way later this year I need to read it. And it’s another that comes highly recommended.

The Way of Kings Part One by Brandon Sanderson – I can finally start reading his Stormlight Archive series! By starting with his Mistborn trilogy I know I am already out of the recommended reading chronology but I told myself I couldn’t start this series before I’d read Elantris and Warbreaker first. Hopefully soon I will have finished the former so I’ll be all set to start this. I’m so excited.

And if I get through all those, which I’m hoping I will, I have the next two in Scott Lynch’s Gentleman Bastard series Red Seas Under Red SkiesΒ and The Republic of Thieves as well as the next ones in the Stormlight Archive, The Way of Kings Part Two, Words of Radiance Part One and Part Two on standby.

Hopefully I’ll have a few new favourites after I’ve read all these. Have you read any of the above or do you have any recommendations for me? I only properly started reading fantasy towards the end of last year so I’m always on the lookout for my next fix!

  1. Great selection! I love the Gentleman Bastard sequence! So excited for book 4 which is coming out in September! I read Twelve Kings last month or the month before (I can’t remember) and enjoyed it – it is definitely a slower paced fantasy but still really good. I am hoping to get to The Way of Kings Part 2 this month πŸ™‚ I also might read Nevernight this month because I also won a copy yay! πŸ™‚
