Hello, hello, hello!
Sorry I’ve been a bit MIA lately, I’ve been a bit preoccupied/stressed because we’re making the plunge…we’re buying a house! Well, more of a penthouse. It is currently a lovely bit of sky/air as it is a new build but it’s soo exciting!
It started Easter Monday when we went to look at the site and talk to the sales exec and we’re waiting for Taylor Wimpey to send our contracts to our solicitors now we’ve got our official mortgage offer! It’s been crazy quick but everything seems to be settling down now, which is good because the not sleeping and constant stress-tummyaches were kinda getting to me. It’s out of our hands now, down to the solicitors. We get to do the fun stuff now like pick the colour of the carpets, flooring, kitchen cabinets and the wardrobes! Super cools. It’s completion eta is October/December so we still have a bit to wait but that just means we’ve got plenty of time to save so we can buy a new bed and curtain poles etc. Who knew buying a house could be this fun?
It’s going to have views over the River Ouse and still great connections to Cambridge and Bedford. It’s just outside a town so we’re an easy walk away from shops and pubs and we’ll overlook a marina and a wildlife conservation area – perfect for our runs!
I’m reading lots of amazing books still but I’ve mainly been finishing CJ Sansom’s Shardlake series and I didn’t want to review every single one (although they are uh-may-zing so go read them all!). I’m currently reading The Beautiful and the Damned by F Scott Fitzgerald while i’m waiting for the latest Shardlake novel to come out in paperback (7th May FYI). I’ll probably pop a review of that up. I’m hoping I can get more history posts up about Kings and Queens that rocked but at the moment things are crazy busy! But fingers crossed.
